How to service and repair the throttle cable and linkage on 2006 Mercury Mariner?

In order to service throttle cable, remove screw, retainer, and cover shield, tigthening to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Unhook the accelerator cable, and make note of the connector type. Take the cable out of the bracket and plunger then out of the pedal. Installation Reverse the sequence.
