Throttle Cable

You must first remove the screw and pin-type retainer and accelerator control cover shield before starting the throttle cable and linkage service process. Make sure to secure the installation to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Take off the accelerator cable from the throttle body before inspecting for push-on or slide-on connector designs because the slide-on replaces all vehicles during service and repair work. The tabs should be squeezed to free the accelerator cable from its bracket followed by removal of nuts securing accelerator cable-to-valve cover stud brackets while installing both components to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). The installation process begins by taking the accelerator cable grommet out from the dash panel while detaching the cable from the rubber plunger. The cable will become free from the accelerator pedal after you push the plunger towards the back of its position. This marks the completion of the cable removal process. The reverse steps of removal serve to install the cable back in place.

Position the plunger rearward and detach the cable from the accelerator pedal.
