2007 Ford Crown Victoria Throttle Position Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Throttle Position Sensor on 2007 Ford Crown Victoria?
A: Service on the Throttle Position (TP) Sensor starts by disconnecting the battery ground cable and electrical connector linked to the TP sensor. The screws holding the TP sensor require delicate handling because you should loosen them 1-2 full turns through hand tool usage before finishing the removal with a proper high-speed driver tool. Set aside the two screws joined to the TP sensor. During installation of the new TP sensor always position its radial locator tab into the throttle body radial locator opening. Insert the new TP sensor with its two new screws before tightening them until they reach 3 Nm (27 lb-in). Reconnect the TP sensor electrical connector but first reconnect the battery ground cable after the installation. Use of recycled screws and the TP sensor should be prevented along with the avoidance of high-speed screwdrivers while installing new screws to protect the TP sensor from damages.
