2007 Ford Edge Brake Disc Parts Q&A
Q: How to remove and replace the rear brake disc on 2007 Ford Edge?
A: The first step to replace a rear brake disc requires complete removal of the wheel assembly with its tire. To prevent brake hose damage the brake caliper with its anchor plate must be supported by mechanic's wire instead of hanging unsupported from the hose. Remove the two brake caliper anchor plate bolts for this purpose. Next, remove the brake disc. Before attachment of the brake disc to the hub begin by cleaning the mounting surface thoroughly and applying a thin layer of anti-seize lubrication where marks indicate. Place the brake disc onto the wheel hub before repositioning the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly then bolt it by using two brake caliper anchor plate bolts which need to be tightened to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs). In the final step reinstall the wheel and tire assembly after testing the brakes for regular functioning.
