2007 Ford Edge Coolant Reservoir Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the coolant reservoir on 2007 Ford Edge?
A: Service and repairs to the coolant reservoir should start with safety precautions by avoiding the removal of the coolant pressure relief cap when the engine runs or temperature is high since the cooling system contains pressure that emits steam and hot liquid violently. Open the pressure relief cap slowly by turning it counterclockwise one half turn and then proceed to remove the cap. Following hose clamp pliers will allow you to attach the lower degas bottle hose for siphoning coolant from the degas bottle using a proper suction tool. The technician should set aside the upper and lower degas bottle hoses after disconnecting them. To access the degas bottle remove its bottle-to-washer screw as well as securing bolts before extracting it. The installation requires users to tighten bolts to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs) while following the removal steps in reverse order together with filling the degas bottle at the end.
