A worker should start door exterior handle repair by taking out the plug found behind the door opening. The first step involves unlatching the exterior door handle reinforcement screw and separating the exterior door handle bezel from the outside. Use a pull on the exterior door handle strap which extends backwards to detach it from exterior door handle reinforcement before taking out the strap. The installation of a new handle requires the same reverse procedure to complete it.
