Service and repair of the rear door latch requires starting with the removal of door trim panel and door window regulator and motor assembly. The service procedure requires disconnecting the interior door handle actuating cable then separating the door lock cylinder actuating rod together with the door handle reinforcement actuating rod. First remove the rear locking clip from the door latch and afterward remove the front locking clip of the same component. First remove the door latch electrical connector before taking out the door latch and the door lock actuating rod by disconnecting the latter if necessary. After finishing the installation process the installation team must reverse their work sequence and apply lubricant to the door latch striker surfaces.
