How to Service and Repair the Automatic Transmission Shift Knob on 2007 Ford Escape?

In order to be able to repair the automatic transmission shifter, it is necessary to raise the vehicle keeping the transmission at neutral and the shift knob in (D). Pry off upper trim ring, top panel and set screw to loosen knob. Change the shifter straw, reconnect wiring and reassemble parts with correct orientation. Test the shifter.
