How to Service the Air Filter Element on 2007 Ford Explorer?

In order to service the air cleaner element, leave the MAF sensor connector attached. On 4.0L engines, disconnect the wiring harness on the outlet pipe; 4.6L engines on the coolant tank. Unplug the outlet pipe, then take off the air cleaner cover and air cleaner element, wash the tray and then fit the new element.
