How to service the evaporator core on 2007 Ford Explorer?

To service the evaporator core, do a vacuum leak test in case of a potential leak. Take out the heater core followed by the screws that hold the cover of the evaporator core. Unzip the cover and remove the rope seal. Uninstall the evaporator core, and proceed to install it in reverse with RTV sealant instead of rope seal.
