Is the evaporator core separately serviceable, and how to service it along with the heater core on Ford Explorer?

The heater core and housing assembly have to be serviced with the evaporator core. In case of a suspected leak, leak test it using vacuum and then remove. Replacement of suction accumulator can be done when a failed compressor contaminates the area. Take off the housing, take off the components and reassemble the heater core and housing.

How to service and repair the evaporator core on Ford Explorer?

The evaporator core should be serviced follow-up by disconnection of battery, release of refrigerant and detachment of different electrical connectors. Disconnect the heater core and put the speed control servo out of the way. Take away the windshield washer reservoir, A/C manifold and evaporation housing. Lastly, unscrew the suction accumulator and take out the evaporator core as the reverse also applies to install it.
