How to service the tailgate latch on 2007 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

The servicing of tailgate latches starts by opening the tailgate then removing the 10 screws that fasten the tailgate access panel. Before repair begin by unconnecting the tailgate latch remote control actuating rods then remove the holding 2 bolts from the tailgate latch. During installation of the new latch tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) and complete the installation by reversing the removal process. The latches require multi-purpose grease spray application for lubrication purposes.
