To fix the tailgate latch, open the tailgate and take away screws and clips out of the access panel. Disassemble the remote control rods and take out the latch bolts. Fit the new latch (using 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) tightening bolts) and lubricate with multi-purpose grease as required. Reverse the removal steps.
