Repairs and servicing of the rear door latch need you to start with exterior door handle removal. detach the rear door latch electrical connector from the door latch while taking out the three screws supporting the reinforcements. Reinstall these screws with 7 Nm (62 lb-in) pressure. After unclipping the door latch from the exterior door handle reinforcement plate one should turn the exterior door handle reinforcement plate 90 degrees in the counterclockwise direction to remove it. The door latch actuating rod requires a 90-degree counterclockwise rotation to separate it from the door latch connecting rod while the adjustment clip for the door latch connecting rod also needs to be released. The replacement of the rear door latch requires removal of the rear door latch actuating cable and the rear door inside handle cable conduit from the rear door latch before rotating the rear door inside handle cable clockwise to free the rear door latch. Perform the installation by reversing the step of removal.
