How to Service and Repair a Shift Cable on 2007 Ford Fusion?

The gearshift cables can be repaired by taking the heater core, battery, and battery tray out. Disassemble the spring clip and cables of the shift mechanism and transaxle bracket. Unscrew the cable nuts and the RCM and then loosen the cable attaching to the shift lever. To re- install, reverse the steps and re- connect the cables accordingly.
