2007 Ford Fusion Transmission Pan Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Transmission Pan, gasket, and filter on 2007 Ford Fusion?
A: The vehicle should be positioned in neutral on a hoist before starting fluid pan gasket and filter maintenance work. Open the drain plug to drain the entire transmission fluid before you install the drain plug again with 29 Nm (21 ft. lb) torque. Start by removing the transaxle fluid pan through bolt removal and implementing a suitable tool to detach the sealer bead. Both sides of the transaxle fluid pan and case require intensive cleaning using a metal surface cleaner. The installation process requires you to apply a 1-1/2 millimeters thick bead of sealer onto the fluid pan sealing surface but the amount should be limited to this quantity to avoid damaging internal transaxle components. Place the transaxle fluid pan on the engine and torque it to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.) before filling the transaxle with new automatic transmission fluid.
