2007 Ford Taurus Coolant Reservoir Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the coolant reservoir safely and effectively on 2007 Ford Taurus?
A: Start the coolant reservoir servicing procedure by protecting yourself from harm through a safety precaution which involves leaving the pressure relief cap tightened while the engine operates or remains hot due to the pressurized cooling system releasing gases and hot material forcefully. The pressure relief cap should be turned counterclockwise by one half turn followed by removing the cap to reduce system pressure. Clamp the lower degas bottle hose using pliers and extract the coolant liquid through the bottle with appropriate suction equipment. The technician begins by taking out the two upper degas bottle hoses before placing them aside and then proceeds to disconnect the lower degas bottle hose. The bolt and nut allow the degas bottle removal process after disconnecting them. The installation process requires threading the degas bottle to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs) while the removal process should be done in reverse order afterward filling the bottle.
