2007 Lincoln MKX Cabin Air Filter Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to access and replace the cabin air filter in dual-zone EATC and EMTC on 2007 Lincoln MKX?
A: Dual-zone EATC vehicles feature standard cabin air filters whereas EMTC vehicles include a protective screen to prevent large material entry into heater core and evaporator core housing areas. The process of gaining access to the cabin air filter or screen can be achieved by taking out the glove compartment and the cabin air filter access cover. Vehicle owners can obtain the cabin air filter through dealer accessories when their vehicles do not have this feature but must always use a filter or screen by themselves. The air inlet duct requires the heater core and evaporator core housing to be taken out before removal. Start by disconnecting the air inlet door actuator electrical connection and then remove the cabin air filter frame followed by removal of the filter or inlet screen components. Remove the five fresh air inlet duct screws followed by disconnecting the four clips from the duct to retrieve the fresh air inlet duct. The seven air inlet duct screws need removal before extracting the duct. The installation process requires performing the reverse operations used for removal.
