You must index-mark the driveshaft flange against the rear axle pinion flange before you remove the four driveshaft flange bolts which need to be fastened to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft) torque upon installation. Precaution is essential since the driveshaft flange seals tightly onto the pinion flange pilot thus hammering of driveshaft parts should be strictly avoided. Use a proper suiting tool for precise work in disconnecting the driveshaft flange from the pinion flange. Avoid spinning the driveshaft when taking off the slip yoke from the transmission output shaft. Mark the positions of the slip yoke on the driveshaft and the transmission extension housing. Once the driveshaft comes off mark the transmission output shaft on the transmission extension housing. Apply sealer to each thread of the original bolts during installation while aligning all index marks by tightening the bolts evenly in a cross pattern so that the driveshaft flange fits properly onto the pinion flange. Tighten the driveshaft flange bolts to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft) direction as the reverse of the removal procedure.
