2008 Ford Crown Victoria Power Steering Cooler Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Power Steering Cooler on 2008 Ford Crown Victoria?
A: Start power steering cooler servicing by extracting the liquid from the reservoir with a correct suction device. Begin by removing pin-type retainers followed by radiator cover shield then remove battery and its tray from the vehicle. After removing the cooling module mounting bracket bolts you should tighten them to 10 Nm (89 lb-inch) before installation ends. During the repair period maintain prevention of foreign substances entering the power steering components to prevent failure. You should loosen the metal clamps before detaching the two hoses from the cooler then clamp the hoses to stop fluid leakage. First remove the upper two pin-type retainers from both cooling module side shields on each side then take off the pin-type retainer from the power steering cooler. To perform the removal place the radiator in a rearward position while releasing the two retaining clips of the cooler. Then take out the power steering cooler. Final the installation by following the opposite steps from removal while filling your power steering system.
