2007 Ford Crown Victoria Power Steering Cooler Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Power Steering Cooler on 2007 Ford Crown Victoria?
A: Begin service and repair of power steering coolers by depowering any fire suppression system that exists in the vehicle. The service and repair process starts with removing pushpins and radiator cover shield and then removing the battery together with its tray. Start by loosening the cooling module mounting bracket bolts after which you must tighten them to reach 10 Nm (89 lb-in) for installation. The mounting brackets should slide off the cooling module. All repair work requires contaminant prevention within the power steering system to prevent premature failure of its components. Disassemble the clamps from the oil cooler while disconnecting power steering inlet and outlet hoses and use clamps to stop fluid loss. Pull out the two pushpins located at the upper part of both sides of the radiator side shields also the pushpin fixing the power steering cooler to the radiator module. Both sides of the radiator can be descended before pulling the cooler free from the radiator module with its retaining clips. The installation process concludes with system filling and check for any leaking. Repower the fire suppression system after depowering it at the beginning of the process.
