- Q: How to service the second-row seat cushion on 2008 Ford Expedition?A: Service of the second-row seat cushion begins with removing both the 20 percent seat and 20 percent seat backrest. The left-hand side shield requires removal of its two screws before taking out the safety belt buckle and nut. Fitting new components requires the anti-rotation tab to be properly set before tightening the nut to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft). First detach the front J-clip from the cushion trim cover and unfasten the two riser-to-cushion frame bolts before taking out the cushion frame which needs torquing up to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) at reinstallation. After uncoupling the hook-and-loop strip and all remaining cushion J-clips you should detach the cushion frame from both the foam pad and trim cover. Tearing the trim foam occurs if you detach the hook-and-loop strip from the seat cushion cover improperly. Take necessary care during this process. After releasing the hook-and-loop strips open the cushion trim cover so you can access and remove the hog ring row together with the trim cover. The reverse process of disassembly enables the assembly of the seat.
