Start by taking off the rear window wiper pivot shaft nut followed by the handle while you should tighten this component to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft) when reattaching it. When working with the liftgate glass ensure proper torque of 6 Nm (53 lb-in) during the reinstallation of nuts with the rear window striker and wiper pivot shaft assembly. Starting with liftgate trim panel removal, proceed to close the liftgate. Installation of new rear wiper motors requires first doing three steps: unlatching the liftgate window glass element then disconnecting the electrical hardware then removing the mounting screws before tightening the screws to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
