The packaging instructions specify the correct method for cleaning sealing surfaces which includes a plastic scraper and precise metal surface preparation. The thermostat installation requires correct indexing before installing it into the housing so you can securely engage the cam by positioning the vent either at 11 o'clock or 1 o'clock. Insert a new gasket before reattaching the thermostat housing and execute bolt tightening through two steps beginning at 8 Nm (71 lb-in) and followed by 60 degrees. Following system filling and bleeding complete the procedure by attaching the upper radiator hose and securing its clamp.
