2008 Ford F-150 Transmitter Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and replace the keyless entry transmitter for the tailgate latch remote control on 2008 Ford F-150?
A: The procedure to substitute the keyless entry transmitter starts by opening the tailgate and supporting it in position. The repair process requires first loosening the 8 screws which fasten the tailgate access panel before tightening these screws to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) during reinstallation. The operator needs to separate the 2 tailgate latch actuating rods from the tailgate remote control by opening its 2 clips before detaching the tailgate latch actuating rod locators from the tailgate. Untighten the two nuts securing the tailgate remote control while keeping them at 7 Nm (62 lb-in) torque for reinstalling. The final step of installation includes carrying out the reverse steps of removal.
