How to service the thermostat on gasoline engines on 2008 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

To access the thermostat on gasoline engines, drain the cooling system, disconnect the upper radiator hose, drain the cooling system and disconnect the air cleaner outlet pipe. Unscrew the bolts on the thermostat housing, and de-assemble the thermostat, and wash the surfaces. Replace an O-ring seal, connect the bolts tightening them to 10 Nm, and repeat the steps.
