2008 Lincoln Mark LT Wheel Bearing Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the front wheel bearing and wheel hub on 2008 Lincoln Mark LT?
A: The first step for serving front wheel bearing and wheel hub requires wheel and tire removal. To prevent damage to the brake hose place the caliper and anchor plate assembly on mechanic's wire when the two bolts are removed instead of letting them hang freely. The tightening torque for the caliper and anchor plate assembly when reinstalling should be 200 Nm (148 lb-ft). Begin by taking out the wheel hub nut retainer along with the cotter pin while discarding the pin. Discard the original wheel hub nut before adding a new one which needs tightening to 400 Nm (296 lb-ft). Operationally take off the brake disc alongside wheel bearing assembly along with the wheel hub. Using lubricant on the wheel spindle threaded end should be avoided as this can lead to wrong clamp force during installation so clean the spindle and its threaded section thoroughly with the mentioned solvent before replacing the brake disc. The installation process requires the opposite application of these procedures.
