How to service and repair the hood latch on 2008 Lincoln MKX?

Mark position of hood latch, remove bolts and put aside to service the hood latch. Unscrew the release cable, lay the new latch in and make sure it is aligned. Install the latch and tighten the bolts to 11 Nm (97 lb-in) and lubricate it.
