How to service and repair the exterior front door handle on 2008 Lincoln Navigator?

The repair and servicing process for exterior front door handles needs the front door window glass to be completely open. Start the process by unscrewing the front panel of the door trim then set the water shield to the side. Use the tool to release the clip that connects the exterior door handle actuating rod after which you should detach the door lock cylinder actuating rod from the lock cylinder (if present). The exterior door handle will be pushed away from the bottom side of its surface to access and remove its two fixating nuts. When mounting the handle secure the nuts to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) torque values. Prior to fastening the clip position the exterior door handle rod completely up along with the exterior door handle rod in a relaxed state. The installation process ends with reversing the removal steps and steps before new installation.
