The first step to work on the hood latch requires you to take out the ten pin retainers while removing the upper radiator sight shield. The first step requires removing two bolts which secure the hood latch. Keep the bolts of the new latch at 35 Nm (26 lb-ft) torque value when installing. Reverse the removal order to reinstall the hood latch by freeing the cable from the latch before it can be restated and secured. Check that the hood latch hits the striker when you have it in its secondary latched sequence (released) and its primary fully latched status. Check and modify the hood latch position for its operational correctness.
