2008 Mercury Mariner Side Marker Light Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Side Marker Light and Front Turn Signal Lamp Bulb on 2008 Mercury Mariner?
A: The servicing of the Escape's side lamp and front turn signal lamp bulb starts with disconnecting power from the front turn signal lamp. A counterclockwise rotation of one-eighth turn on the front turn signal lamp bulb holder will let you remove it from the assembly where the headlamp is located. Subsequently separate the bulb from its holder. Place the vehicle in neutral position for working while on a hoist to remove the four fender splash shield bolts which should reach 5 Nm (44 lb-in) torque during reinstallation. Starting by removing the four pin-type retainers from the fender splash shield and unfastening the screw allows moving the shield aside. Knock the side lamp bulb holder counterclockwise until you achieve one-eighth twist to unhook it from the headlamp assembly and reach the bulb for removal. The finishing step includes reverting every removal action from front turn signal lamp installation or side lamp installation.
