How to remove and replace the camshaft while preventing piston and valve damage on 2009 Ford E-150?

Removing the timing chains, in order to replace the camshaft, make sure that the crankshaft and camshaft are at rest. Eliminate camshaft roller followers, and then timing chains. On the 4.6L (2V) engine, take out the bearing caps and camshaft, clean it and then fit back with appropriate lubrication. Repeat with 5.4L (2 V) engine. Lastly, replace timing chains and roller followers.
