Disconnect both the fabric hose from the side demister and the electrical connector of the instrument panel dimmer switch. Position them out of the way. Use the T-20 torx® tool to access three screws through instrument panel side and steering column opening and pull out the screws with mounting bracket and dimmer switch. You can detach the dimmer switch from the bracket once you push down its tabs. An MKX motorist should remove the instrument panel side finish panel and use behind-the-panel force to release the tabs which allows extraction of the headlamp switch assembly before disconnecting electrical connectors as needed. Complete the new dimmer switch installation through performing a reverse of the removal procedure.
