2009 Ford Edge Intake Manifold Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the lower intake manifold on 2009 Ford Edge?
A: Start the process of servicing the lower intake manifold when the vehicle is set to neutral position on a hoist. First empty the coolant and remove the fuel rail alongside the air cleaner assembly. Remove the three bolts that connect the thermostat housing to the lower intake manifold then detach ten bolts from the lower intake manifold. The intake manifold and thermostat housing gaskets should be thrown away while ending every sealing surface with a thorough cleaning and inspection. The presence of metal debris in the intake manifold requires a new part to protect the engine from damages when replacement or repair occurred due to upper engine failure. Start installation by fitting new gaskets between lower intake manifold and thermostat housing while aligning the parts together and tightening their ten attaching bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque according to the designated order. The three thermostat housing-to-lower intake manifold bolts should be installed next followed by torquing them to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). After reattaching the ACL assembly and the fuel rail you must conduct a cooling system fill-up and bleeding process.
