2009 Ford Expedition Brake Light Switch Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the brake light switch on 2009 Ford Expedition?
A: The service procedure for brake light switch begins with disconnecting the electrical stoplamp switch connector. The stoplamp switch becomes unremoveable when the switch plunger is not depressed yet; applying a slight force of between 1-4 N (1-3 lb) on the brake pedal completes the plunger depression. A slight rearward force on the brake pedal will enable you to extract the stoplamp switch while rotating it 45 degrees clockwise. Installation of the brake pedal assembly requires keeping it untouched to prevent damage to the stoplamp switch. Install the stoplamp switch by not moving the brake pedal assembly then rotate it 45 degrees counterclockwise before connecting the stoplamp switch electrical connector.
