How to Service and Repair the Sway Bar Link on 2009 Ford F-150?

A technician should place the vehicle on a hoist with the gear in NEUTRAL position before commencing sway bar link maintenance works. Sway bar link service requires users to remove and discard the two upper nuts but maintaining the hex-holding device to stop stud rotation. New sway bar nuts should be tightened to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft) torque settings. Take out the two lower nuts from the sway bar link by utilizing the hex-holding feature and remove the sway bar links. Tighten new nuts to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft) after installation. Remove the sway bar brackets along with their four nuts, throw away all nuts before you can extract the sway bar itself. During assembly workers should torque new nuts to reach 55 Nm (41 lb-ft). Old sway bar bracket bolt plates need replacement before reinstallation of the sway bar bushing center lip into its bracket groove. Evaluate the bushings for replacement if required. Finish the assembly process by performing the opposite steps of removal.
