How to Service and Repair the Power Steering Reservoir on 2009 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

A suitable suction device allows you to drain power steering fluid before starting power steering reservoir service and repair. The power steering supply hose can be detached first by loosening the clamp then disconnecting both hoses to the power steering fluid cooler unit. Power steering fluid service requires disconnecting the hydraulic booster supply hose in addition to disconnecting the supply hose of Hydro-Boost(R) vehicles during the service. Welded vehicles with 6.4L engines require the removal of the fuel charge cooler hose from the reservoir. Both power steering reservoir bolts contain dry adhesive threads which cannot be reinstalled so discard the two bolts after removing them. The installation requires new bolts which you should tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in). The removal process should be reversed to complete filling the power steering system.
