Service of the tailgate latch starts by opening the gate. Begin the process by taking out all screws and retaining clips that exist alongside the tailgate access panel. Unplug the remote actuating rods from the tailgate latch and afterward remove the two bolts which keep the latch in position. Tighten the installation bolts of the new latch to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) torque settings while following the reverse order of removal. Multi-purpose grease spray should be used to lubricate the latches if required.
