2009 Lincoln Navigator Brake Line Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Brake Line on 2009 Lincoln Navigator?
A: Start brake flexible hose service and repair operation by taking off the wheel along with tire. Undocking the wheel speed sensor harness brake flexible hose retainer separation permits disconnecting the brake flexible hose from its tube fitting while performing a 18 Nm (159 lb-in) fastening procedure for reinstallation. First remove the brake flexible hose retaining clip followed by the brake caliper flow bolt but dispose of the two copper washers before you reinstall with new copper washers and secure the flow bolt to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft). The brake flexible hose bracket bolt must be eliminated together with its attached hose prior to installation and the bracket bolt needs to be tightened to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) torque value. To finish the procedure reinstall all parts before conducting a brake caliper bleed process. Use new brake fluid that corresponds to the manufacturer recommendations since the reuse of drained fluid leads to contamination which causes damage to the system. Brake fluid should be treated carefully when it spills onto painted or plastic surfaces because prompt water washing of the affected spot is required for cleanup. Hospital attention should be sought for emergency medical matters since disregarding labeling cautions produces the risk of severe personal injuries.
