How to remove and replace the rear right-hand parking brake cable on 2009 Lincoln Navigator?

The first step for removing and replacing the rear right-hand parking brake cable requires tension relief from the parking brake cable system. Put the vehicle in neutral position and mount it on a hoist stand. The right-hand rear cable needs to detach from the cable union to free the conduit from the equalizer through pressing its two release tabs. The right-hand rear cable maintenance begins with removing the retaining clip followed by disconnection of the cable from its bracket. Proper torque settings for installation are 18 Nm (159 lb-in). The installation of the rear parking brake cable requires that you replace the crossmember bolt and keep it tightened at 18 Nm (159 lb-in). Follow by removing the bolt and wire form bracket from the right vehicle side then tighten it to 18 Nm (159 lb-in) when reattaching. First free the parking brake cable from both the right-hand bracket assembly and from the parking brake actuating lever before taking out the cable assembly. The installation of the new cable requires following the reverse steps of removal.
