How to remove the rear bumper cover on 2009 Lincoln Town Car?

The first step before removing the rear bumper cover involves two requirements: putting the vehicle in neutral and hoisting it. Start the process by unscrewing two bumper cover screws on each side of the rear area and then disengage the two pin-type retainers from the same corners. The sequence continues with the removal of rear bumper cover screws followed by pin-type retainers and then luggage compartment rear trim panel alongside its 4 retainers. Remove the LH luggage compartment trim panel by disconnecting its electrical connector and pulling off push-on retainers which allows you to set it aside. Roll the 3 rear bumper cover nuts from the LH side rear panel before reinstalling these bolts to 7 Nm (62 lb-in). After the spare wheel trim cover, proceed to remove the spare wheel and then take out the 2 rear bumper cover nuts from the RH side rear panel while tightening them to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) during reinstallation. Remove THX audio amplifier equipment first before uninstalling 4 rear bumper cover nuts located on both sides and tighten them to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) during reinstallation. You should pull the sides of the rear bumper cover outward to remove it while following the opposite process during installation.
