2009 Mercury Milan Air Duct Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the intake air duct on 2009 Mercury Milan?
A: Start the intake air duct service operation by extracting the crankcase vent tube and vacuum tube from the ACL outlet pipe. When servicing PZEV vehicles users need to remove the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) hose connecting to the ACL outlet pipe. The procedure needs you to loosen the connection between the ACL outlet pipe and ACL while reinstallation requires 3 Nm (27 lb-in) torque on this connection. The technician should loosen the ACL outlet pipe-to-Throttle Body (TB) clamp and extract the pipeline from the outlet. During reinstallation properly tighten the ACL outlet pipe-to-Throttle Body clamp to reach 5 Nm torque (44 lb-in). The installation requires a proper seal on the ACL outlet pipe to stop unmetered air entry into the engine followed by conducting the reverse steps of removal.
