How to remove and replace the rear Door Latch Assembly on 2009 Mercury Milan?

The first step for changing the rear door latch involves removing the exterior rear door handle. Follow this order to remove the rear door window regulator and motor together with the rear door window glass. Follow this step by removing three rear door latch bolts and secure them to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) during assembly. The exterior rear door handle reinforcement screw must be loosened until it becomes free to slide before pulling out the rear door latch and exterior rear door handle reinforcement through the front of the vehicle. The installation requires removal of three screws alongside the rear door latch bracket as well as the exterior rear door handle actuating rod if required for disconnection. After installation the reverse removal process should be recreated and the rear door latch needs to receive lubrication on both surfaces.
