Proceed by detaching the pin-type retainers on the bumper cover and disconnect the rear parking aid sensor electrical connector when present together with the side marker lamp electrical connector when present. Disconnect the eight bumper cover-to-splash shield pin-type retainers. To detach the rear bumper cover from the sheet metal the bracket at its upper edge must be lifted upward so it can be pulled away while repeating the process across the opposite side. Install new components then follow steps for reinstallation of the new bumper cover using the reverse procedure.
