The first step to service the windshield washer reservoir starts with air cleaner assembly removal followed by removing two bolts to move the windshield washer components away from position. After reinstallation tighten the bolts to 6 Nm (53 lb-in). Follow safety guidelines listed on the label by disconnecting electrical connectors while consulting MSDS materials for medical support before changing the windshield washer reservoir due to life-threatening safety risks. Remove the windshield washer fluid from the hose before windshield washer pump and reservoir extraction becomes necessary. Follow the procedure by separating the windshield washer pump from the reservoir. A premature windshield pump failure results from operating the pump before filling the windshield reservoir. The installation process requires executing the removal steps in reverse order.
