The use of memory saver devices should be avoided because they elevate personal injury hazards. The proper operation of restraints control module (RCM) depends on its correct orientation therefore examine mounting areas and brackets for any signs of damage if a vehicle experienced a crash and replace the RCM even when air bags have not deployed. The restoration of RCM mounting area must return to its original state. It is essential to examine sensor mounting brackets together with wiring pigtails after a collision to ensure proper orientation of all SRS components and their correct installation in replacement cases. Static electrical charges have the potential to damage electronic modules but installing an ECS module circuit protection improvement kit becomes necessary when replacing the ECS module on vehicles that use aftermarket high current draw devices which exceed 75 amps.
