Ford E-150 Econoline Coil Springs Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair Coil Springs on Ford E-150 Econoline?
A: Service or repair of the coil spring begins with vehicle axle lifting and support along with the removal of tires and wheels and front stabilizer bar. Support should be applied to the axle during this operation to avoid putting pressure on the front brake hose; when removal of the disc Brake Caliper brings additional clearance needs, proceed with the required removal steps. The affected front axle needs support from an appropriate lifting device. The shock absorber requires disconnection from the Radius Arm when performing this task. Start by removing the lower shock absorber nut while disconnecting the lower shock absorber end. First remove the forementioned bolt and upper spring retainer before lowering the jack-stand holding the front axle to extract the front coil spring. Reinstallation requires the performance of the uninstallation steps in reverse order.
