How to service the EGR valve on Ford E-150 Econoline?

The first step to service the EGR valve is to detach the engine air cleaner. Unplug the vacuum hose from the EGR valve and free its upper fitting from the valve tube. Unbolt the EGR valve from its place then dispose the old gasket. Clean sealing areas thoroughly before you set the EGR valve back in place with a new gasket because the EGR valve components consist of soft metals.
