Servicing the wiper motor linkage typically begins with removal of the windshield wiper pivot arms, since the mounting arm and pivot shaft are usually replaced as an assembly. The cowl top vent panels are commonly removed so the mounting arm and pivot shaft can be disconnected; this is often done by removing the access cover in the dash panel, withdrawing the retaining clip, and separating the linkage from the wiper motor. Screws securing the mounting arm and pivot shaft are then removed to free the assembly. Reassembly is generally carried out in the reverse order, although in some cases minor adjustments or alignment may be required depending on vehicle fitment.
