Ford E-250 Dimmer Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the headlamp dimmer switch and steering column multifunction switch on Ford E-250?
A: Service or repair work on the headlamp dimmer switch gets started only after depowering the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). Mount a punch to activate the lock cylinder release tab after you position the ignition key in the RUN switch. Follow by pulling out the cylinder. Detach the tilt release lever only if your vehicle has it. The upper and lower steering column shrouds are secured by three screws for removal as well as the two multifunction switch screws which require 3 Nm (27 lb-in) tightening upon replacement installation. To install reverse the removal process by reconnecting the electrical connectors of the multifunction switch. Finally, repower the SRS.
